Privacy policy

The short version

This website is an informational site for Valkorin Ventures LLC. It uses privacy-focused Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand site traffic and performance. It does not use analytics cookies, advertising trackers or advertising profiles, and it shows no advertising. The only information you intentionally give us is what you submit through the contact form, and we use that to reply to you.

What we collect

Contact form submissions

When you send a message through the contact form, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you entered, plus the company or organisation if you chose to give one. That message is emailed to the Valkorin inbox, where it stays until it is dealt with and archived.

We use it to answer you. We do not add you to a mailing list, sell it, or share it with anyone outside the providers listed below.

Security and abuse-prevention data

When you submit the form, the request is checked before it is accepted. That check uses your IP address to apply rate limits and to verify the anti-bot challenge. The IP address is used for that decision and is not stored by us in a database.

Our server logs record the time of a request, whether it succeeded, and a general category if it failed. They deliberately do not contain message contents, email addresses, or the tokens used by the anti-bot check.

Standard web-server records

Like any site, requests to valkorin.com pass through our infrastructure provider, which keeps its own operational and security records. We do not control the contents or retention of those records.

Website analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how people use this site and how well it performs. The measurements include things such as visits, page views, referring sites, page paths, country, browser, operating system and device type, page-load performance and Core Web Vitals.

For valkorin.com, Cloudflare automatically loads a small performance beacon in your browser, which sends those measurements back through valkorin.com. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not collect or use visitors' personal data, does not use cookies or other browser storage to collect usage metrics, and does not fingerprint individuals by IP address, browser details or other data for the purpose of its analytics.

We use these measurements to understand our audience, see how visitors find and use the site, and improve its content and performance. We do not use Cloudflare Web Analytics to build advertising profiles.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own, and no analytics cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures traffic and real-user performance with a JavaScript beacon rather than with cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile, the anti-bot check on the contact form, may set its own storage in your browser in order to work. It is only loaded on the contact page.

Who processes information for us

• Cloudflare — hosts and delivers this website, provides network security, provides Turnstile, the anti-bot check on the contact form, and provides Web Analytics, which measures site traffic and real-user performance. Requests to the site pass through Cloudflare's network.
• Amazon Web Services (SES) — delivers contact form submissions to our inbox as email. The contents of your message pass through SES for that delivery.

Each of these providers handles data under its own terms and privacy policy. We use them for the functions described above and nothing else.

How long we keep things

Contact messages are kept in our email system for as long as they are useful for the correspondence and any follow-up, and are deleted when they are not. Operational logs are short-lived by design.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to contact@valkorin.com and we will respond. If you would rather not use the form at all, emailing that address directly reaches the same place.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version is posted here with a new date at the top of the page.
